Fox news exec to staff: Online polls ‘not true measures of public opinion’

By Kelsey Sutton

09/28/16 12:07 PM EDT

Fox News’s vice president of public-opinion research sent a memo to staff Wednesday reminding employees that unscientific online polls, which were cited in several segments to suggest that Donald Trump won Monday night’s presidential debate against Hillary Clinton, do not meet the network’s editorial standards.

"As most of the publications themselves clearly state, the sample obviously can’t be representative of the electorate because they only reflect the views of those Internet users who have chosen to participate," Dana Blanton, Fox News’s vice president of public-opinion research, wrote in the memo to the channel's politics team, which was obtained by Business Insider’s Oliver Darcy. "Another problem — we know some campaigns/groups of supporters encourage people to vote in online polls and flood the results," she wrote. "These quickie click items do not meet our editorial standards."

Online polls ‘not true measures of public opinion’. You don't say. Who woulda thunk? :pondering:
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour

Agreed, they aren't but on the other hand, winning virtually every single one, about 19 of them, is hard to explain. A "concerted effort" doesn't hack it, others have the same opportunity to vote.

Also, the one poll Trump lost, the CNN poll, it is being said, that poll was weighed 41% Democratic.  He may have lost one of the other polls, I forget which one it was. If that is so, he lost about 2 of around 20.

Also, Trump raises $16 million or something after the debate, in that people are voting with their wallets.

Trump appeared to a crowd of 27,000, 20,000 yesterday, Hillary's crowd was estimated at 1400.

POTUS Ron Paul was not available for comment.
My avatar shows the national debt in stacks of $100 bills.  If you look very closely under the crane you can see the Statue of Liberty.

You are simply entrenching your reputation as a sycophant.  You could gain some credibility by acknowledging that Hillary won Monday night.

She crushed him and even Fox News is having to admit it.  But one debate is not an election.

Nope.

We now have four scientific polls on who won the debate:

Morning Consult: Hillary +23
YouGov: Hillary +27
CNN: Hillary +25
PPP: Hillary +11

...other than the websites that provided a whole list of the polls to hit, with instructions on how to bypass the check and vote multiple times.
