In a speech on Monday, Donald Trump expressed his displeasure that Ahmad Khan Rahami, the suspect in the recent New York City bombings, will receive the full legal protections afforded to him by the federal Constitution. Trump specifically zeroed in on the fact that Rahami, a naturalized U.S. citizen, will presumably be provided a lawyer, as the Constitution requires. “He will be represented by an outstanding lawyer,” Trump complained with palpable chagrin....

There was no "right to counsel" until the Gideon decision, when the Supreme Court (leftist at the time) pulled it out of thin air.

That had been the norm -- and Constitutional -- for almost 200 years in American jurisprudence.

I can't wait for Trump to bring back the draft and debtor prisons.  There is way too much freedom for the excess population.

What is the point in even having a trial when the solution to all our problems can be found at the business end of a gun?

I fully expect Trump to announce the "Make America Great Book Burning event" tomorrow.

Sometimes it does harm America but we gotta suck it up and cope. Doing otherwise would harm America far worse.

You can make a case against bringing non citizens here by force and putting them on trial but a citizen is a citizen is a citizen.
