Cruz feeling the squeeze on Trump endorsement (Politico)
« on: September 23, 2016, 02:23:55 pm »
Ted Cruz is in a bind when it comes to Donald Trump: Loyalists say he should stand by his epic non-endorsement in Cleveland. But Republicans pushing to finally unify the party as the election tightens say it’s time for Cruz to get on board.

Cruz hasn’t ruled out an endorsement and is still watching how Trump’s campaign performs down the homestretch, an aide said. But there is a renewed urgency after his former campaign manager told reporters this week that Cruz is warming to Trump’s more disciplined campaign. Cruz himself praised Trump for backing the Texas senator’s crusade to stop a handover of an Internet domain overseer to international regulators.

Since Cruz's career is 'over' why not hector Kasich for his endorsement? Or the Bush family?

I don't doubt that there's urgency. I just doubt that the urgency is on the part of Cruz.

I'm not hearing anyone from the Cruz camp screeching for Trump to endorse Cruz and time is on Cruz's side.

Ted Cruz understands something that the Trump camp clearly doesn't. We aren't sheep and Ted Cruz knows this. We aren't going to run out and support Trump if Ted Cruz did.

Trump need to make a public apology and retract his statements that he will work to defeat Cruz. Even then, I don't think Cruz should give him an endorsement- just emphasize how Hitlery will ensure the death of the Republic.
Principles matter. Words matter.
