McConnell sets vote on 'clean' funding bill to avoid shutdown
« on: September 22, 2016, 07:33:41 pm »
By Alexander Bolton - 09/22/16 02:00 PM EDT

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has scheduled a vote on what he says is a “clean” funding resolution to avoid a government shutdown on Oct. 1.

Democrats say the bill isn’t good enough, creating a standoff with just days to go until government funding expires.

McConnell took to the Senate floor Thursday afternoon to schedule a vote on funding the government through Dec. 9, prompting an angry response from Democrats, who accused the GOP leader of jamming them.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski (Md.), the senior Democrat on the Appropriations Committee, said the proposal “falls short” because it doesn’t include emergency funding to rebuild water infrastructure in Flint, Mich., where lead-tainted drinking water caused a national scandal earlier this year.

April 29, 2009, when obummers feet were still wet, was the last time the US Congress passed a Budget.

We know with the likes of McConnell and Ryan exactly what will happen at the very last second this time also.

Maybe Ted and a few others will stand up again and TRY and stop this INSANITY!

The Senate passed a blank piece of paper as a budget stand-in 89-7 or something like that. Insane.

What happens when Republicans don't give Democrats what they want? They threaten a government shutdown and blame the GOP for it, successfully and always.

GOP majority? Their fault. GOP in the minority? Their fault. Democrat President? Their fault. Republican President? His fault.

A complete and utter lack of communicative ability, effective strategy and testicular fortitude on the part of the GOP leadership for the past thirty years is a large part of the reason why their Republican Presidential candidate is presently an intellectually inchoate, stupefyingly inarticulate, orange-domed demagogue.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Effectively there is no republican party inside the beltway.  They are all afraid of getting left off the guest list for the next big happening!

and the GOPers blame it on conservative extremists (a certain Senator from Texas comes to mind) and sound exactly like Democrats. Look at how many "conservatives" bashed a certain Senator from Texas for trying to stop the budget.
