He is being interviewed by Chuck Toad and flat out says "From the time that Jamestown was founded in 1619 to the Dread Scott decision in 1850,African-Americans could not be US citizens".
An outright flat-out lie. There were many black American citizens, and it started with Jamestown. Most of the people that came to Jamestown after it was founded were indentured servants, and they were of all races, One,a black man that came here and worked off his debt got a land grant to grow tobacco, and in turn imported his own black indentured servant. This free black CITIZEN of Jamestown had adopted the last name of Johnson, refused to free his indentured servant after the man had worked off his debt, and went to court and sued to enslave them man and won the court case. THE VERY FIRST SLAVE OWNER IN THE AMERICA WAS A BLACK MAN THAT ENSLAVED HIS BLACK EMPLOYEE.
Johnson was a wealthy farmer when he died, and was breeding race horses at the time. By the time he died he owned a plantation in Maryland.
