Trump campaign: Obama born in the US
« on: September 16, 2016, 02:40:37 am »
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump's campaign on Thursday said he believes President Barack Obama was born in the US, a major reversal from a line of attack he launched five years ago.

"In 2011, Mr. Trump was finally able to bring this ugly incident to its conclusion by successfully compelling President Obama to release his birth certificate. Mr. Trump did a great service to the President and the country by bringing closure to the issue that Hillary Clinton and her team first raised," Trump spokesman Jason Miller said in a statement.

"Inarguably, Donald J. Trump is a closer. Having successfully obtained President Obama's birth certificate when others could not, Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States," Miller added.

Earlier Thursday, Trump had again refused to say whether he believes Obama was born in the US, despite recent efforts by his top surrogates to downplay the "birther" controversy.

"I'll answer that question at the right time. I just don't want to answer it yet," Trump told The Washington Post.

Not enough.  You can bet Lester Holt will ask him at the first debate.  Even if he says "yes" it will remind everyone that he's been a birther for six years.

Donny may be in it to win it for Hillary but I don't believe those working in his campaign are.

It's part of his history he cannot escape.  And you're right, Lester Dolt will probably go after him for it.

This thing is going into overdrive tomorrow.  MSNBC and CNN are all over it tonight.  He will be forced to say something BEFORE the debates.

Again, Trump himself is taking himself off message because he can't bring himself to admit publicly that he was wrong. Maybe he thinks he wasn't wrong.

Trump is a crazy sumbitch.  This will obliterate Hillary's illness, give her a chance to go on offense, and make him look like a conspiracy idiot.

Obama assured the American people that his policies would be on the ballots.  I can see why.  Whether Hillary or Trump we have 4 more years of Obama.

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Per news today, the Clinton candidacy was the first source that pushed the "birther" question;

Let's not forget how Democrats in congress raked McCain over the coals for being born in the Panama zone.

It's been known for years and in no way will it offer Trump any relief from the attacks that are sure to come, nor will blacks vote for Trump because the advent of the entire folly can be traced back to Hillary.

Trump made a fool of himself with the birther lunacy and it will keep blacks from voting for him.

It's really hard to say what Trump believes or when he's just saying things that he knows are false to get attention.   It's equally clear he has not thought long and hard about most public issues.  He's first and foremost a demagogue who looks for a way to market himself as the leader of whatever opinion there is out there.  His fawning fondness for Putin is a great example of how unprincipled he is.  He shares a will to power, like Putin, and a lack of genuine convictions.  Just as Putin went from being a KGB Colonel to a ultra-nationalist and religious chauvinist without any problems, Trump reinvented himself as needed to hijack the Republican Party.   And it shouldn't surprise us at all.  Today, a man can identify as a woman and be taken seriously, as if he is.   A white person can identify as a black person and be taken seriously, as if they are.  And Trump can, after a long life of supporting liberals, claim he now identifies as a Republican and fool folks in to taking him seriously, as if he is.  Trump is the Faustian pact.

And let's not forget that closet liberal Democrat Trump raked Cruz over the coals for being a "Canadian" [sic].  Trump whole shtick, from the insults, the innuendo, the lowbrow statism, and the racial appeals, is all pure Democrat hooey.  As a lifelong Democrat, Trump brought their same crude approach to politics to the Republican Party.

Trump supporters believe his biography, his public life, his former comments, and anything but fawning gullibility for the orange demagogue is not allowed.  It's a cult.  Critical thinking needs to be suspended to support Trump.   Never mind that he did so much to empower liberals until about six years ago.

Oh this is an important message.

Another pointless fight and distraction. Obama is almost done with his time in office and will be gone in January.

Trump should offer some kind of solution for preventing ineligible people from assuming the presidency. Granted he would offer some kind of wildly unconstitutional solution but it would give his fans something to cheer for.

Oh, thank you, The Donald, for that timely reassurance. 🙄
