As part of a series of pre-State of the Union policy proposals, White House operative Valerie Jarrett revealed on Wednesday that President Obama’s plan is to push mandatory paid maternity leave.

Jarrett said the president intends to issue an executive order that will ensure that federal employees receive six weeks of paid maternity leave.

The president also wants Congress to enshrine the concept in a new federal law that would impose the policy on all private sector businesses......

I have mostly worked for large energy companies and they all had paid 'family' leave.  Don't know about six months leave, but they had at least a month.  This is just another scheme of the Democrats to provide more "freebies" to their potential voters at, per usual, the taxpayers' expense.  Companies forced to pay out more for this will have to compensate by hiring less, laying off or reducing salaries and benefits across the board.

Trump has never seen a big government program, an expansion of big government, or a new fed gov 'freebie' handout that he didn't just adore.  That is, after all, how New York liberals roll.
