The Bank of England introduces it's first plastic banknotes, England and Wales.
New five pound features World War Two leader Winston Churchill.
Expected to be more durable.
Aims to prevent forgery
(Reuters) Over the coming weeks the first plastic banknotes will be trickling through the country's cash machines and banks. They are made of polymer, a thin and flexible plastic, which is said to be cleaner, less harmful to the environment and harder to forge than current cotton-based notes, according to the central bank.
