He was a "national embarrassment" because what he said, didn't fit your preset ideological tenets.
We get that you don't like him and think him a buffoon.
We got it way back 2500+ posts ago.
I'm glad you caught on. I was beginning to think y'all were having some sort of cognitive difficulty.
As for Trump's performance, it was painful to watch, and I'm not even a supporter. I was embarrassed for him:
Y'see:
He's got this seecrit plan. It's better than any plan the generals can come up with because he knows ISIS better than the generals. Of course, he can't mention the seecrit plan because, well, it's seecrit and that would give it away.
Yep. Buffoon fits.
Largely ignorant of the subject matter, evasive, nonspecific, and trying to bluster his way through how he'd handle national security.
Ideologically speaking, I'd prefer someone who knew what the hell was going on, could rely on those who knows more than they do, and will pick the brains of everyone from bird colonel up and senior NCOs (at a minimum) to come up with the most effective way to deal with threats militarily.
Even more so, I would prefer someone with the temperament and judgement to avoid unnecessary conflict and the wisdom to stay out of other countries' civil wars. It is not enough to know how to intervene, one must have the judgement to know when to do so.
as for the rest, is he going to privatize the VA or not?
