After a lifetime of passionate conservative activism and the creation of a very successful activist organization, it’s heartbreaking that Schlafly died before she could see the man she risked so much for win the election.

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly died on Monday afternoon.
The “Sweetheart of the Silent Majority” passed away surrounded by family in her home in Ladue, Missouri just a short 10-minute drive from where she was born in St. Louis on August 15, 1924.

Her death marks a palpable loss for the conservative movement which, just last month, celebrated the grassroots heroine’s 92nd birthday.

Actually, the legal battle has been going on at the Eagle Forum over control for a few years now. The issue that popped up lately is that Schlafly was making actual candidate endorsements via the Eagle Forum which it wasn't allowed due to being a 501.c instead of a 503.c risking tax status (it is registered as an issues PAC not a candidate PAC).  Like any PAC of its type, it is governed by bylaws and a board of directors.

The daughter knew her best and had legitimate concerns. Complaining about latin american players taking jobs from Americans in the MLB was a good example of bizarre off the wall thinking.

I think the key starting point to the board working to remove her was early 2014 when she started opposing the Article V Convention movement that The Eagle Forum strongly supported. She was using their platform to fight one of the issues they stood for and were invested in. This would be like Steve Cook encouraging Apple customers to buy Android instead.

I wouldn't go that far. Simply, she has been opposing the Eagle Forum's platform for a few years and lately, she has been doing things that risked their tax exempt status as well. This wasn't really a Trump issue as it predates Trump.
