TEHRAN,— Iran, a key backer of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, urged Turkey to quickly wrap up its campaign, saying it was a violation of Syrian sovereignty.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Tuesday evening expressed concern over continuation of Turkey military operation in Syria, IRNA reported.

The Turkish Army should stop military action in the region immediately, Qassemi said.
