I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

What is the definition of an 'institutional elite'?

I am not sure.
One could make the case that Nolan Ryan or Elvis Presley are "Institutional Elites".

It was kind of a rhetorical question. For pretty much all definitions (especially going back to C. Wright Mills' book The Power Elite), Trump, by all accounts, would be the definition of an institutional elite.

Indeed, he would.

And yet the institutional elites are still flocking in large numbers to either him or Clinton. There's no mass defection among those in power. That should tell you something.

I noted in the local paper this afternoon that several of Trump's New York supporters were in fact supporters of Jeb! (Trump's previous foil) before they supported Trump. Challenging the institutional elite? He's got their backing! He's probably financed their campaigns in years past.

Simple, there is no 'shake up' just playing the unwashed flyover masses, as they call them, as marks in their game. They know Trump will deal and play the game because that's what he has always done, heck, he practically wrote the book on modern cronyism. All of this 'he is fighting the establishment' is just a marketing line similar to a WWE Wrassler's catch phrase as he walks down the ramp. Simply put, you have corrupt liberal elite versus corrupt liberal elite running now.

An elitist that should have been institutionalized, but wasn't?  (just a guess.....and that would probably include all of them, so never mind)
