DirecTV Drops Newsmax TV

Not that anyone probably watched, but just in case you didn't notice already.

....Newsmax TV is no longer airing on DirecTV. I don’t know exactly when it happened but the dearth of news when I searched Google suggests it happened either today or within the past few days.....

....    DIRECTV is committed to bringing you the best TV experience at the most reasonable value. When disputes arise with programmers over their rising prices, this site will keep you up to date with clear and direct information.

This strongly indicates that DirecTV is in the middle of a carriage dispute with Newsmax. ....

I definitely watched NewsMax.

All of the big alphabet networks, big satellite news companies as well, are just a bit too glitzy for me.

One America New, OAN is reasonable, NewsMax was pretty good.

They aren't exactly Mom and Pop TV stations but they have that feel a little.

Perhaps they will work out their problems, NewsMax went off about 3 weeks ago.

For awhile, http://directvpromise.com/ had one of their headings as NewsMax, they were trying to solve the problem. Now it seems like they have dropped them but we will see.

Within reason, some of what is on the Blaze is okay.

When it was still on but we were told they were going to end their broadcasts at a certain date, I actually watched some of Al Jazeera America, it was actually alright.

You can get Newsmax TV's live feed free online.

http://www.newsmaxtv.com

I know that in the beginning Newsmax was offering the TV channel to providers by time-buy. I don't know if they're trying to change that model or what.

I have DirecTV, but I've never watched Newsmax.  But I rarely watch the news anymore.  It's far more efficient to read it myself than have someone read it to me.

Same here. We watch the local news  only. Because we have DirecTV, we had to add an antenna to get the local stations.

Interesting.  In the greater Houston area, we get the local channels from DirecTV.

The "local" package here didn't actually offer local stations. Go figure!

I can read Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and so on, that certainly doesn't mean I don't want to hear or watch them.

JD Hayworth, former Republican Rep from Arizona, born in North Carolina

And Ed Berliner are the kinds of Ace News Reporters I'd like to watch.

Steve Malzberg is beyond decent as a Conservative Talk Showhost and they have had a lot of good guests on.

 :thumbsup3:

You can read about anything online, so what kind of statement is that?

I like toned-down NewsMax and it also throws a curve to the Fox News crybabies.

Documentaries on Reagan, carried live speeches by Ted Cruz.

Gee; this is a Conservative forum isn't it?

What are you trying to reference?  What comments in this thread do you think go against conservatism?

Choosing not to spend time watching TV is hardly a liberal value.

That's what I was scratching my head about. Just pointing out the fact it was dropped I guess is biased somehow to him.  That's some FR level stuff- denying any factual information just because it isn't pleasant.

I wonder sometimes. I haven't heard anyone praise Al-Bin Laden news since last time I was listening to some liberal rant about where to get accurate news.
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour

Rabbit ears are cool. You can get a lot of good reception right over the air, and for free.
