As noted earlier, following a feverish push by Congress and Hillary Clinton to scapegoat Mylan, and its CEO, Heather Bresch, as “greedy” examples of corporatism (even though it is not Mylan’s fault it is a de facto monopoly and thus has unlimited pricing ability), the EpiPen maker on Thursday announced plans to boost access to its EpiPen Auto-Injector by expanding already existing programs for patients who are facing higher out-of-pocket costs. The company is reducing the cost of EpiPens through the use of a savings card which will cover up to $300 for the EpiPen 2-Pak.

“We recognize the significant burden on patients from continued, rising insurance premiums and being forced increasingly to pay the full list price for medicines at the pharmacy counter,” Bresch said in a statement. “Patients deserve increased price transparency and affordable care, particularly as the system shifts significant costs to them.”

It seems to me the two are quite different.  Obamacare, originating in the senate (unconstitutional) was made law by the supreme court (unconstitutional).  Obamacare is a tax (according the supreme court, not argued for by team Obama) so everyone had to contribute in some way.  Team Obama KNEW IN ADVANCE the healthcare law had no chance of surviving but went ahead with it anyway; no republicans voted for it - different than subprime.  The one thing in common?  Both were rapes of the American taxpayer. :peeonobama:

ObamaCare was a bubble designed to fail.

She should know all about that being a Dem Senators daughter and bankroller of "the right people"

She's not talking about Obamacare, but the entire health care system of America in total.

Really now?  Being granted near monopoly status strips you, as a person, from being able to make the moral choice?  That there was a rider in the government actions that stated your company *MUST* raise the price irregardless of the cot of the goods involved?

I think the author of this piece needs help.

EpiPen CEO: “The US Healthcare System Bubble Is Going to Burst; This Is No Different Than the Subprime Crisis”

Kind of a weird observation, considering how the jacked-up pricing on EpiPens is one of the factors that is "inflating" that "bubble".

Ridiculously-high drug prices, high prices for medical equipment, ever-rising healthcare premiums -- a bubble, indeed.

Yet, think for a moment if we had single-payer socialized medicine with strict government controls on who received what care.

Those EpiPens wouldn't exist, because the medical bean-counters wouldn't pay for them!
Too high a cost/benefit ratio (for the -government-, NOT for the patient!)

Her well-connected company gets protected markets, handouts and favoritism from the federal government and she wants to warn us about what exactly? lol That is like asking the Governor of Iowa what the best policy on ethanol is.

Exactly.

She would throw a fit if anyone actually tried to fix the healthcare system because it would take her and it off the government gravy train

Not sure that's correct.

I'm in it everyday.   Doctors will doctor and nurses will nurse.   Dump the ovwrwhelming regulation and the system will thrive.
