I asked a successful businessman the other day what he thought about Donald Trump. He turned his thumb down. Wow. "Are you going to vote for Hillary?" I asked with trepidation. "Of course not," he replied, almost insulted by the question. "I understand the concept of a binary decision."

I got a similar response when I asked oil magnate T. Boone Pickens whether he would vote for Trump. He looked at me with a quizzical expression and replied: "Well, who else is there to vote for?"

Right. Who else is there? Yet, amazingly, a caucus of lifelong Republican politicos in Washington are announcing to the world with defiance and self-righteousness that they will vote for Hillary Clinton.

They are mostly former Mitt Romney and George W. Bush operatives. They lost, and now they want people to believe that their anti-Trumpism is a principled act of heroism. They ingratiate themselves to The New York Times, Washington Post and team Clinton -- the sworn enemies of free markets and conservative values.

Somehow this doesn't offend their moral compass.

I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

Yep, that's such a winning strategy there.. yes, we suck, but it could be worse....  and you are a turncoat for going against us....

A lot of projection going on with the Great Orange Pumpkin tRumpkin supporters.  I guess it makes them feel better about their horrible choice.

It seems like a lot of desperation. Just in the past 24 hours, Trump completely flip flopped on two major issues, Immigration (now says his program will be similar to Obama's) and the Iran deal (now says we won't abandon it, just renegotiate it).

They are down to just trying to scare everyone into believing the false dichotomy.

and it never stops. There is nothing good about Trump, so we constantly get attack after attack - usually on conservatives!

Exactly.  We're in the lifeboats, sailing away from the Titanic, and the Trumpkins are shaking their fists at us, angry that we're not going down with them.

It's simple math and shown to be demonstrated fact by the actions of those involved. Trump supporters arent that bright. Now if someone wants to explain how backing a man that lied about all his major issues is an intelligent decision, I'm open to the entertainment.

If they CANNOT, then I rest my case. Electing one America hating liberal over another isn't intelligent. It's liberal.

You're mechanicos, correct?  I don't understand the cloak-and-dagger...what's the point?  This isn't FR where internet adultery is actually a thing.  So you don't post at FR anymore...why not just come back here under your own name.

They what their own Orange Smiling Bob.  They get a rise out of the Trump.   Trump would be great at selling pills that will increase penis size, girth, and firmness and improve sexual performance.

Trump is swelling with pride!

That would be pretty funny since I just read some of mechanicos comments on his FReeper page.  One of the comments was talking about the "Social aspects of cult like behavior" and it was the definition of a tRump supporter.  Just more of their projection.

It is interesting choice of words 'Turncoats'- outside the origin, Cromwell's army defecting to the Royal Army during the English civil war, it was more commonly referred to from the American Revolution when people turned their loyalties away from the crown- they turned their redcoats inside out.

The Trumpkins finagle to get the worst possible GOP candidate ever (and a horrible human being) as the nominee, and now they accuse conservatives who don't like it as being traitors. Great.
Two things: as bad as Hillary will be as president, we'll all still be here after four years. If we surrender to Trump and the Trumpkins, that will define the party for the next generation. Trump might be slightly better than Hillary, that's debatable. (KIng  Barack couldn't wreck the U.S., and neither will Hillary. It's questionable that she'll be able to serve out even one term as she's turning into a doddering old wreck.)
But he also favors a number of very unconservative positions, and the thought of him at the control button on defense is more frightening than Hillary.   Either way we're screwed.

Today the Savage Weiner was lumping Cruz in with the people who should be drawn and quartered for his failure to kneel and swear allegiance to the Trump. In his burned up brain Ted will be responsible for Trump's defeat, not Trump.

To answer Pickens's question, there's Gary Johnson, and depending on who's on the ballot in your state, possibly Evan McMullin or Darrell Castle... plus there are write-ins. Each of which are better, to varying degrees, than Clinton or Trump. (Still not sure about McMullin, but at least he's saying the right things.) You have a choice.

This is not a binary question: this or that, yes or no. Believe me, I wish it were, and we could just keep Clinton out with a simple "No" vote. I think incumbents should at the very least be subject to that. More than two people are allowed to run.
