The Never-Trump bozos

I don’t entirely agree that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. After all, circumstances dictated that we aligned ourselves with the Soviet Union during World War II, but one can easily see how we might have found ourselves linking up with the equally vile Germany to defeat the Soviet Union.

Having said that, when I consider the various elements that have come together to defeat Donald Trump, I can’t help thinking there might be more to be said for his candidacy than I have previously credited to his account.

For instance, just the other day 50 so-called Republicans claiming to be so-called national security experts signed a letter predicting that Trump would be the worst president in history when it comes to keeping America safe.

Huh?

Let me get this clear. We have a current president and a presidential wannabe who have been instrumental in rolling out the red carpet for Russia in the Middle East; given rise to ISIS, simultaneously making a mockery of the money and lives we had previously sacrificed in Iraq; handed over $1.9 billion to Iran ($400 million of it in the form of an illegal ransom) along with a clear path to a nuclear arsenal; released 166 Islamic terrorists from Gitmo; welcomed thousands of un-vetted Syrians into the homeland in spite of their cohorts having slaughtered hundreds of innocent people in Paris, Brussels, Munich, San Bernardino, Orlando and Constantinople, during the past year; created space between the United States and Israel – space that hadn’t existed since 1948; and have devoted more time and attention to invalidating the Second Amendment and disarming American patriots than it has to combating worldwide jihadism.

I’m still trying to get my head around the fact that those 50 Republican fruitcakes imagine that Donald Trump could be worse. Naturally, they don’t bother explaining how he would manage to do what strikes me as virtually impossible. Short of detonating a nuclear device in Times Square, what do they imagine Trump could possibly do that would match what the abominable twosome have already done?

{.. snip .. }

I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

Well this figures.  The old (and only) defense of...."Yeah, Trump sucks but at least he's not that other guy/whatever".  Sorry, fools.  Not....good....enough.

The rather obvious explanation is that Trump may not be worse than Hillary (which isn't saying much, if anything)....but with him running and ruining the nation AS a Republican (or rather, a pretenda-Republican)....

the Democrats would use that "R" word thang as the perfect excuse to propagandize to the nation against EVER having another Republican or non-Democrat in the White House.  It's the propaganda, stupid.

Trump is no way no how a rightie.  But while pretending to be, he is successfully turning off voters to any future "rightie" or conservative movement.  And that was the intention and agenda all along.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Our enemies grow weirder.

But outlining the horror of a Hillary presidency is a good weapon and they ought to stick to it.  There is no way that any of them can convince anyone that Donald Trump is not an insane, mean, narcissistic lunatic with no saving graces whatever.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.

So the take away is that Trump is a Bozo NO NO? I can live with that. I grew up with Bozo and if there is one thing I can say about him it is that I respected him and what he stood for, which never changed. Trump on the other hand is a Clown of a different color  who evolves and changes not just day to day but morning to evening.

Exactly.  And they post garbage like this thinking what?  Was it supposed to convert us into supporting the lying New York liberal?   Not only was that a fail but it pushes us even further away, something they just can't seem to grasp.

Alice Cooper is sounding better and better all the time. Biting the head off a bat sounds a lot more sane than biting off the heads of 43% of Republicans voters - calling them bozos.

This dividing into "us" and "them" is pretty much inevitable when someone joins a cult of personality, which is what the Trump campaign seems to have become.

It's a pretty unhealthy sort of thing.

You are correct, it was Ozzy.   The story on Alice is he threw a chicken into the audience where it was killed, and the story was embellished that Alice bit its head off, which never happened.

The problem with Trumpkins is that they  confuse someone or something being slightly better than another person or another thing as being good. That does not compute. Because I am a better violinist than a really bad player does not make me a good player. It just makes me slightly better and still a poor violinist.
Trump is horribly out of his depth as a prez candidate. He is an ignoramus and not a conservative. He has promised to do some conservative things to try and win over conservative holdouts. I doubt he really means any of it.  He is in it for himself.
Now I still might vote for Trump to avoid Hillary. But I don't have to like it, and I'm going to call him what he is....just a slightly less worse candidate than the totally horrible Dem candidate. That's all he is. Pubbies who gleefully jump on the Trump train should hold their heads in shame for backing such an awful candidate. I still don't know how I'm going to remove the stench if I pull the lever for Trump. Maybe there's some new kind of chemical soap that can remove it.

I've always said that Trump is working very hard to make sure HillaryByers elected.

I was wrong by omission.

Trump AND his supporters are working hard to make sure she gets elected.

I think the false assumption that many of us have been laboring under here is that these cretins were ever working 'for' the Republican win in the first place.  It is much more likely and probable that they, like Trump, have been working against the GOP...and for the Democrats.... all along.  It makes more logical sense than thinking that they're not even bright enough to notice that their insults are turning more and more voters off to Trump vs. winning them over.

Good point.

But how dense does one have to be to think that calling a large group of intelligent, patriotic voters "bozos," "morons," "traitors," "immoral," and "sanctimonious," (tough to be both of those last two!) will actually win a single vote for Trump.

I think perhaps we're dealing with a sub-species of cretins here.  It's hard to believe anyone is really this stupid.
Character still matters.  It always matters.
