Trump backs militarization of police agencies.
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:53:52 pm »
 Associated Press August 22 at 4:58 PM
WASHINGTON — The Latest on the U.S. presidential campaign. (all times EDT):

4:25 p.m.

Donald Trump is suggesting he would resume the practice of giving surplus military equipment to local police departments.

The Obama administration banned police agencies from receiving military-grade equipment after 2014 protests in Ferguson, Missouri, over the death of Michael Brown, a black man, in a confrontation with police.

Answering a question Monday in Akron, Ohio, Trump said, “I think it’s ridiculous that they’re not” given the equipment.

The Republican presidential nominee also said he believed that some rising crime is partly due to a decline in police manpower and vowed to change that.

Trump met with two dozen active and retired police officers at Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police. The union’s national organization is expected to announce an endorsement next month.

Trump fondly remembers the days when marchers and protesters were attacked with dogs, water cannons and tear gas.

I don't mind police getting small arms and defensive gear but too often police seem to go out of their way to find uses for what they get rather than getting them because they need them.

Some Dept would be happy with enough Armoured Vehicles to make an appearance in the  May Day Parade in the Balkans.  Put Trump in the Lead Tank.

I hear we have a bit of a nuclear bomb surplus.

I'm sure Mayberry could use two or three.

At the very least, a few fuel-air explosive bombs...

And this is why his "black outreach" moment will not work.

"Vote for me... what do you have to lose?"

If that's the case, why even bother trying to get any more of "the black vote"...?

There's no point.
There's no approach that will or can work.

Might as well just "write blacks off" to the democrats and try to ignore them.

BTW, this is essentially what I've been posting here for a good long while now.
I think two successive obama victories have created a "black monolith vote" that's not going away any time soon.

I would like to be proven wrong.
But I ain't gonna be holdin' my breath on this one.

What the hay?

@Idaho_Cowboy

Photo was most likely from eastern Europe. I guess it has changed some now,but you wouldn't believe all the stuff you would see strapped to the Russian "Lada" cars (Russian Fiats) back in the 90's. Not very many Russians had cars,and almost all the ones that did had the Lada because it was the cheapest one. It was the party officials that had the Mercedes and BMW's.

Not many Russian's had trucks,either. The only ones I ever saw were former military trucks.

So they would strap whatever they needed to haul to their Lada's,and go tooling down the road.

And you ain't seen nothing until you have seen Russian dirt track racing in the 90's. I suspect their equipment and regulations have improved a bunch since then,but right after the fall of communism they went big for car racing,but  the translation for "dirt track racing" seemed to have gotten garbled in the translation. It ended up being stock Lada 4 drs with the windows rolled down,no roll bars or other safety equipment,racing on a motocross track,complete with jumps and Ivan sitting behind the wheel with a cheap white motorcycle helmet on,wearing a tshirt and with his arm resting on the open window sill.

American rednecks with their "Somebody hold mah beer,and yall watch this crap!" attitude would be in awe of the redneck Ivan. Damndest thing I ever saw. Since nobody there had tow trucks or trailers,I think the cars were even driven to the races.

@Fishrrman

You don't get it. Whites are the past,and it is whites that are being written off by our political masters because they see a non-white future,and want to keep THEIR places at the public trough.

Karma WILL bite you in the ass though,and once the non-whites take control over the political system,those white Dims that have made a career out of pandering will be in the soup lines with the rest of us.

Providing we are allowed to live,that is.

@Idaho_Cowboy

You DO understand that "freedom and liberty" means you are responsible for feeding,clothing,housing,and all the other expenses involved in taking care of yourself and your family,right?

What makes you think that people raised to believe they don't need to provide for themselves because the goobermint owes then and is obligated to take care of them are going to buy into providing for themselves?

All of American is going to look like South Africa or Rhodesia 20-30 years from now,or a degraded modern day Detroit/St.Louis,with war lords running things.

Chances are the Western Europe will be in the same boat,too. I suspect eastern Europe,specifically Russia will be the only safe place for whites to live.

I'm  a hopeless optimist who still thinks man kind yearns for freedom and that none are so unhappy as those whose means of living lies in the outstretched hand of another.

I think a true teaching of American history would go a long ways towards that end, but that may never happen in our schools again.

What is not mentioned anywhere is the the majority of young muslims all over the world want more Western freedom and less theocratic rule. Iran has had 2 failed revolutions in the past 5-6 years all led by young people yearning for Western style freedoms.

The 10% who are radicals make all the news.

My uncle going over to Europe in WWII truly thought the world was ending and the US would be taken over by Germany.

Things change.

Great, yet another reason to be #NeverTrump, as if son-of-Hawley-Smoot trade policy, the threat to default on the national debt, weaponizing libel law to shield politicians from criticism, and the scam that was "Trump University" weren't enough.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
