Sanders returning to campaign trail for Clinton

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will be returning to the campaign trail next month to stump for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

"I look forward to it," Sanders told The Washington Post Friday.

"I feel very strongly that Donald Trump would be a disaster for the country. I want to do everything I can to see that Secretary Clinton wins."

Sanders spent a year on the trail for his own presidential campaign, before dropping out and endorsing Clinton last month.

He spoke on her behalf at the Democratic National Convention, but faced backlash from some of his supporters who say Clinton benefited from a rigged primary process.

Sanders has pleaded with his supporters to back Clinton. Now he's expected to hit the campaign trail to target the working-class and younger voters.

He plans to visit New Hampshire, Maine, Michigan and Wisconsin — all states where he won primaries and caucuses — as well as others were he had strong support such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Nevada.

He'll also campaign for Democratic Senate candidates including Katie McGinty in Pennsylvania, Ted Strickland in Ohio and Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire.

Looks to me like he's going to campaign for down-ballot Senate candidates in states Hillary is leading in.   Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio.  Flip those four and lose none and Schumer is the Majority Leader.

All the adult Berners I talked with are jaded, they're voting for Jill Stein.

Don't see Sanders exciting the black community much either, so I'm guessing he'll be hitting the college campuses for Clinton.

Who knows what brand of hogswallop he'll be peddling those kids.

And that's because they chose a candidate they can all rally around, unlike the Trump boot-lickers, who chose their own hatred, fear, and spite over the good of the GOP and the good of the country.

The party eventually coalesced around Bush, and around Romney.  The fact that the party is not coalescing around Trump has to do with Trump and the fact that he is too far from what the party stands for.  And the fault for that lies with the people who forced him on us.  If they had put the good of the country ahead of their own petty spite, we would have had a candidate we could coalesce around.

Never in my life have I seen two so despicable candidates put forth, that the election may hinge upon who does not vote.
