<Just don't be manipulated into thinking the choice is binary.>
Hate to break this to everyone, but it is binary. In one way that stinks, but in another, thank God it's only binary. I don't want a European style choice of 37 different parties.

Of these, the Libertarian, Reform, Green, and Constitution Parties are the top 4.
Frankly, my favorite is the Constitution Party, but when I say I am a Conservative, I believe much of the Constitution as amended is a great framework, and that we should return to it. I'd repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments, though, and restore even that to something closer to the Founders' well thought out structure for a Government, and rein in the FedGov, back to its assigned duties and return the functions and powers it has usurped to the States and the people.
So, there are only six parties in play, not the full 70, which should be quite a relief for you.
We had three parties represented in the Congress before (that's right, Bernie Sanders was listed as a Socialist).
