Donald Trump's campaign is expanding its staff in the battleground state of North Carolina, adding more veteran senior and field staff workers to the state's operations.

"The continued expansion of our team in North Carolina, a key battleground state, shows the commitment the Trump Pence Campaign has made to putting this state in the win column come November," said new State Director Jason Simmons in a press release Thursday.

"By bringing in experienced operatives, the Trump team has dedicated resources to making this political staff one of the best in the country."

In addition to Simmons, the campaign has hired Taylor Playforth as deputy state director; Robert Bowes as political director; Kirk Bell as director of communications; and Bethany Hudson as director of coalitions.

Simmons is a former staff member for Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign.

Playforth worked as an operative in Sen. Thom Tillis' 2014 campaign and the run-off election of Sen. Bill Cassidy, and has served as the Regional Field Director for RNC Deployment.

Bowes served on Trump strike teams during the primaries in several states, and worked in the finance industry in New York before becoming the treasurer for Pat Buchanan's presidential campaign in 1995, eventually rejoining Buchanan again in 1999 and 2000.

Bell was director of regional satellite and radio media for the Republican National Convention, and in the past served as director of communications and press secretary for the New York gubernatorial campaign of Carl Paladino. He also worked in two other presidential campaigns and with the House of Representatives.

Hudson, who is active in North Carolina political organizations, has served as a president of the Wake County Republican Women's Club and for Americans for Prosperity as a regional field coordinator in the 2012 election.

The team plans to announce the openings of campaign offices across the state.

All we have in Texas is a mailbox, so another mailbox would be doubling the operations here
