Poll: Military Prefers Trump Over Clinton 2-1
Sunday, July 17, 2016 06:26 PM

By: Cathy Burke

The nation's active military favors Donald Trump for president over Hillary Clinton by a 2-1 margin, a new survey shows.

The Military Times polling also shows service members are overwhelmingly dissatisfied with both presumptive nominees.

Here's the breakdown in support, according to Military Times:

    Trump: 49 percent
    Clinton: 21 percent
    Libertarian Gary Johnson: 13 percent
    Third-party candidate: 23 percent
    Won't vote: 7 percent

In other findings:

More than 61 percent said they were dissatisfied with Trump, including 28 percent who intend to vote for him.

More than 82 percent said they were dissatisfied with Clinton, including 30 percent who will vote for her.

"Troops and veterans do believe in exercising their civic duties, and I think many of them will, despite the fact they’ve been given two terrible choices," John Noonan, an Air Force veteran and national security advisor for two prior Republican presidential hopefuls, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, tells Military Times.

"I think if most troops did what she did [with classified emails], they’d be tossed in the brig. And his entire national security policy relies on an unrealistic border wall."

The survey was conducted between July 5 and July 8; 1,915 respondents completed the survey, according to Military Times.

That's Yuge!

I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

This was a self-selecting survey, which is worthless.  Just like Drudge.

The military vote is statistically insignificant from a national standpoint. Some states produce more military votes than others but when it comes to voting they're more headlines and heartstrings than a significant indicator of anything.

Should Trump become C-in-C, I hope none of you military member Trump supporters ever end up in a POW camp. He may not try to rescue you because of his disdain for those who get captured.

I'm more concerned with his unwillingness to admit mistakes and refusal to accept responsibility.
