Latino support for Donald Trump at 40% in New York: poll

New York’s Hispanic voters may have a secret soft spot for Donald Trump.

A new poll pegs support for Trump at 40 percent among Latino registered voters in the Empire State.

The results would be a major break from recent electoral history. Barack Obama took 89 percent of that demographic in his 2012 victory.

And, in a sign of continued electoral turmoil, 20 percent of registered Democrats plan to vote for Trump — while 21 percent of registered Republicans say they will go for Hillary Clinton.

Uh-huh.  I'll believe that when pigs fly.  I'm in NYC every day - and not amongst the rarified atmosphere enjoyed by Trump - and I have yet to hear a single latino express anything but disgust for Trump.

Even the funky Gravis poll (Gravis is one of the lowest rated polling organizations on 538's ratings list) shows Hillary up in NY by 14 points:

Democrat Hillary R. Clinton leads among Empire State voters with 48 percent, compared with 34 percent for Republican nominee Donald J. Trump and 6 percent supporting Libertarian Gary Johnson and 4 percent for Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein, according to the Breitbart/Gravis poll conducted between Aug. 4 through Aug. 6 with 1,717 registered voters in the Empire State.
