Doesn't look good!

I heard on the police scanner that shots were still being heard at 1:30am.

Angry crowds smashed a Milwaukee police car, set fire to another, and injured a police officer with a thrown brick Saturday night following the fatal police shooting of an armed man earlier in the day, police said. A gas station and an auto parts store were set on fire.

A large crowd turned out after Milwaukee police shot and killed what they said was an armed suspect at 3:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. ET) on Milwaukee's north side, according to police and NBC station WTMJ.

Police said an officer was injured after being struck in the head by a brick thrown through the window of a squad car. Police said shortly after 10 p.m. that a gas station was set on fire and gunshots were preventing the fire department from moving in.

The Milwaukee shooting was in a violent area as one can suppose. They had an uptick in violence over the summer. Last night 9 people were shot in the area. The shooting in question that lead to near riots began at 3:30pm. Several guys were fleeing from police and police shot a guy. The gas station was lit on fire at around 8 central time.

The gas station had an issue in July. A man there who was working the place pulled a gun on thugs trying to steal and destroy the gas station. The guy was fired and the community came together to try to keep peace. They had a cook out at the Sherman park nearby where protesters were at tonight.

The thugs threw rocks and bricks at police tonight. The black protestors torched and threw bricks at cars and police vehicles as well.

The Gas station was a BP. Some auto parts store is currently on fire as well. The news station is claiming they are getting reports of more fires throughout the city. Maybe at a Beauty Supply store.

A presser by Police is coming up. The shooting was 44th and West Auer and the BP station is at Sherman and Auer near the park. Things were so unsafe that fire trucks did not arrive to the BP station on fire for three hours.

Been watching the live feed - they have cops on rooftops and ON the firetrucks, guarding the firemen.

I'm really baffled that these mobs have not been shot at in self defense by citizens fearing for their lives.  Are CCW folks that rare?

These things always happen for thugs not for actual innocent victims it seems.

Never seems to happen when gangs shoot 20 people in Chicago in a weekend

What A LOAD ...

“Our community is in pain:” Ald. Stamper shares thoughts, emotional text from friend after violent disturbance

Quote
Stamper told reporters, "Our community is in pain." He took time to read part of what a friend had texted him during the evening. That friend said in a text, "I'm fighting tears right now." The friend's text indicated people are taking these actions because "they feel like they can't do anything else." Stamper's friend also texted, "We haven't been doing enough. Everybody is playing (expletive) politics -- and nobody is playing life." Stamper's response to his friend was, "Exactly."

Stamper said the actions seen late Saturday come from helplessness -- and the voters put people like him in office to help. Stamper stated he was going to "put resources in this budget" and "partner with people who want to make a difference.

Milwaukee Alderman Khalif Rainey echoed Stamper's thoughts -- and shared some of his own. In particular, Rainey said, "Something has to be done." He said "No one can deny the fact that there are problems, racial problems in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that need to be rectified."

Details On Officer-Involved Shooting That Sparked Massive Milwaukee Riot
By Officer Blue On August 14, 2016

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – We are learning more about the officer-involved shooting that sparked rioting on Saturday night. During the riots, multiple buildings were set on fire, shots were fired at police and firefighters, bricks were thrown at officers and patrol cars, at least two patrol cars were set on fire, and an officer was hit over the head with a brick. A gas station was set on fire during the riot, and firefighters were unable to respond due to shots being fired at shirt responders.

Despite the violence and destruction, most media organizations refuse to report on the incident as a riot, and refer to the criminal perpetrators as “protesters.” While the incident initially started as a Black Lives Matter protest, the incident ceased being a “protest” when they started rioting.

The details about the shooting which sparked the riot have been slowly coming out. Our information so far indicates that at around 3:30 PM, Milwaukee police officer conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. After the car stopped, at least two of the vehicle’s occupants fled on foot.

An unidentified 24-year-old male officer, chased after one of the suspects. During the chase, the 23-year old male suspect pulled out a stolen pistol that was fully loaded with stolen ammunition. The officer ordered the suspect to drop the gun. The suspect did not drop the gun, and the officer fatally shot him.

The officer was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting. It’s likely that the camera may not have covered the officer’s actions at the exact moment of the shooting, because if the officer was pointing his gun at the suspect, then his arms would have likely blocked the camera.

Without a clear picture on the body camera, Milwaukee Police Department would need to interview the officer to determine some of the details on the shooting. These interviews often don’t happen until a couple of days after the shooting. For this reason, it is likely that we may not get many new details in the next few days about the circumstances of the shooting. The delay is likely to be used as an excuse for more rioting.

Milwaukee PD would not release the races of the suspect or officer, but our sources tell us that the suspect was a black male.  ...More at Blue Lives Matter

Milwaukee officials plead for calm after unrest wracks city

MILWAUKEE –  City leaders pleaded for calm after violence erupted for several hours Saturday night on Milwaukee's north side following a man's fatal shooting by police, with the mayor imploring parents of anyone at the scene to "get them home right now" after at least four businesses burned and one officer was hurt.

At a news conference just after midnight, Mayor Tom Barrett said the situation appeared to be calming after a riotous scene in which as many as 100 protesters skirmished with police, torching a squad car and tossing a brick through the window of another. Police mounted at least two efforts to push the protesters out of an intersection at the heart of the violence.

The unrest began several hours after a man fleeing police after a traffic stop was shot and killed. Police said the man was armed, but it wasn't clear whether he was pointing the gun or aiming it at officers. Barrett said the man was hit twice, in the chest and arm. Neither his race nor the officer's was immediately released, nor were they identified.

The shooting was being investigated by the state. The officer was wearing a body camera, Barrett said.

At least three people were arrested in an uprising that Barrett said was driven by social media messages instructing people to congregate in the area.

"We have to have calm," Barrett said at the news conference. "There are a lot of really good people who live in this neighborhood."

Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton echoed Barrett's plea for help restoring order.

"We understand the frustration people feel with the police community nationally. ... We have to go through the process of finding justice, but we have to be able to restore order to these neighborhoods," Hamilton said. "Please participate in restoring order to these neighborhoods."

Barrett said the 23-year-old man who died was stopped by police for "suspicious activity." Police said earlier that he was carrying a gun that had been stolen in a March burglary in suburban Waukesha.

"This stop took place because two officers ... saw suspicious activity," Barrett said. "There were 23 rounds in that gun that that officer was staring at. I want to make sure we don't lose any police officers in this community, either."

Police with shields and helmets moved slowly into an intersection after 11 p.m., telling a crowd of about 50 people to disperse. Some threw rocks and other debris at police, who held up their shields. They also threw objects at a business a half-block from the intersection. A nearby traffic light was bent over and bus shelters overturned.

An earlier standoff involved more than 100 people pushing against 20 to 30 officers. Officers got in their cars to leave at one point and some in the crowd started smashing a squad car's windows. Another police car was set on fire.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that one of its reporters was shoved to the ground and punched.

The businesses that burned included a BMO Harris branch, a BP gas station, an O'Reilly Auto Parts store and a beauty supply store. Firefighters held back from the gas station blaze because of gunfire.

Police said the man who was shot had an arrest record. The 24-year-old officer who shot the man has been placed on administrative duty. The officer has been with the Milwaukee department six years, three as an officer.

Black Lives Matter THUGS show true colors, shoot at firemen in #Milwaukee

Rioters and protesters are turning Milwaukee into a war zone as they burn the town, throw rocks at journalists, and shoot guns at the firemen trying to extinguish the flames. Just another case of uneducated people acting barbaric and torching their own neighborhood because they’re too stupid to act civilized.

fire

The events leading up to Saturday night’s riots began when an unnamed police officer pulled over a car with two men inside, who then left the vehicle and attempted to run away. A chase ensued on foot, and police fired shots at one of the men, fatally wounding him. The 23-year-old, whose name has not been released, was allegedly in possession of a stolen handgun, police spokesman Capt. Mark Stanmeyer told the media.

Again, thank you to the Administration for all of this racial strife;

And thanks to the "alt-right", I'm sure they are a big part of this too as we periodically hear how bad they are as well, must be .000008% of the Trump supporters.

This bulls*** will continue until police start using tougher methods on these criminals...yes, I said it.  The bodies of dead black males killed by other black males are piling up on the north side of Milwaukee, and nothing much is done. But they go and riot because the police shoot a black thug with a gun in his hand.
At some point the rest of the country is going to have to tell all the black whiners enough is enough. Don't hold your breath waiting  for that to happen while Dems are in control of cities and other gov. areas. The white mayor of Milwaukee, Tom Barrett, ought to have his a** kicked but good. He absolves the "poor and oppressed" from all their problems, because you see there's too many guns out there.( And get this...several years ago Barrett was attacked and severely hurt outside the State Fair grounds by a black thug after trying to help some person the thug was attacking.)
The mayor is out of his mind....there are tons of guns in other areas of Wisconsin, but virtually nobody is killed. Because most of the people of Wisconsin are law-abiding. Some aren't.

Wow. Color me surprised.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

Yesterday's Saturday morning Aug. 13 headline out of Milwaukee was 5 people killed overnight.

Kind of ironic and telling that all hell broke loose last night.

Maybe just released info but when this stuff happens, there is a good chance, the officer said to do the shooting is not white. Think the headline should suffice.

I know the saying goes, Milwaukee is a segregated city, have people heard that?

But Wisconsin has a fairly good history on race relations I thought.

I know the saying goes, Milwaukee is a segregated city, have people heard that?

But Wisconsin has a fairly good history on race relations I thought.
Many parts of Wisconsin have small or zero black populations. I grew up in La Crosse, Wi. that fifty years ago out of a pop. of 50,000 had exactly one black family. Now the black population is about 2 percent.
Many other cities and towns in Wisconsin are like that. Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, Racine, and  Beloit have substantial black population with Milwaukee the largest.
Milwaukee has the largest black population with about 200,000 black people in a city of about six to seven hundred thousand. They are mostly concentrated on the north side.  Many of the suburbs are virtually all white.
Until the 70s, like most of the country,  blacks and whites went to mostly separate schools. Milwaukee is still considered one of the most de facto segregated cities in the country.
In the sixties Milwaukee experienced a fairly serious race riot. The National Guard had to be sent in to restore order.
I don't know if race relations in Wisconsin was ever good, but it definitely seems to be getting worse.

It really makes no difference to those who incite violence.

Racism is just an excuse to blame someone else for the failings of oneself.

  • Your what hurts??
So, are we rioting all night in Milwaukee again tonight??  The professional agitators of BLM wasted no time when this shooting went down, why stop now??  With any luck they can persuade a couple more bitter loners to assassinate some more police officers somewhere else.

These people will jump on any possible opportunity to stir up the locals to violence.

Ain't over yet.
