One they didn't mention: The ammo belt on US fighter planes of the era was 27 ft. long. When you 'gave them the full nine yards', you emptied the tray.

wait a minute, in the game WAR THUNDER the rounds of my P-51 last a couple of seconds, I'm getting lied to! :p (I'll get a more advanced version later if I keep playing)
