Gary Johnson Agrees With Trump That Obama Founded ISIS – But Not on Purpose

Libertarian presidential candidate makes it clear he thinks Obama “unintentionally” armed the terrorist group

Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson agrees with GOP nominee Donald Trump that President Obama founded ISIS, but he does not believe it was intentional.

“Unintentionally,” Johnson replied on MSNBC Thursday morning when asked if Obama was the founder of ISIS before being pressed for more details.

“It wasn’t intentional, but you can’t make it up. When they go in and they support the opposition in Libya and Syria, and the opposition is aligned with ISIS, and we arm the opposition and they lose those arms to ISIS, unintentionally,” Johnson said.

Trump first called Obama the founder of ISIS on Wednesday night during a campaign rally in Sunrise, Florida.

“ISIS is honoring President Obama. He is the founder of ISIS. He’s the founder of ISIS. He’s the founder. He founded ISIS,” Trump said. “I would say the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton.”

They are all wrong. It would be correct to say he nurtured it or set the stage to help them grow by pulling out of Iraq (ie, he lost the peace) but ISIS technically was founded in 1947 as the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.  They attempted a coup in Syria and were overthrown  which is where we have he Assad regime. Their goal has always been to create a single, unified Arab State.  They never really had the opportunity to be militant like they were in the 60s until Obama lost the peace in Iraq, opening the door to fill the power vacuum.

It is important to understand the real roots as to understand their real goals and how they've tried to achieve them before.
