A new NBC News/Survey Monkey poll shows Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by 10 points, up from an 8-point margin last week.
According to NBC News, the 10-point margin marks the largest spread between the rival candidates since a head-to-head matchup was first compared in May. Her lead narrows to just six points, however, when Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are added in:
Head-to-head:
Clinton: 51 percent
Trump: 41 percent
Four-way matchup:
Clinton: 44 percent
Trump: 38 percent
Johnson: 10 percent
Stein: 4 percent
The network's weekly polls show Trump is losing support among core Republican voters and men. This week's poll shows Trump's margin over Clinton with men is now at five points, down from a 16-point gap two weeks ago.
Trump's support among white men is also dropping. Over the past two weeks, the GOP nominee owned a 23-point margin over Clinton among white men, at 58 percent to 35 percent. That number, however, dropped from a 31-point lead among white men during the week of the Republican convention.
Other results from the poll:
Clinton has flipped voters without college degrees, leading Trump 48 percent to 44 percent. Trump owned a nine-point margin with that group in the beginning of July.
Clinton leads Trump by 24 points among women, up from a 14-point margin two weeks ago.
Trump is also losing momentum among evangelical voters. In early July, he held a 60-point advantage. Now he leads by 49 points, at 71 percent to 22 percent.
The poll was conducted from Aug. 1-7 among a sample of 11,480 adults who reported they are registered voters, and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 1.2 percentage points. Of the respondents, 3,451 were registered Republicans, with a 2.3-point margin of error, and 3,974 Democrats, with a 2-point margin of error.
