We live in a world where the government tries to tells us a cash payment, in actual paper money, delivered by unmarked jet in the middle of the night to a hostage taker, upon receipt of which said hostages are released, which said hostage taker says is ransom money, is not ransom.

This really is "1984" come to life.

On the contrary, in 1984 (or was it 1986?) the democrats and media called this ransom for terrorists.
