Rules That Apply To Everyone Are Racist Says One Black Mom

There’s this sub-genre of racism that says rules that apply to everyone are racist if they have a disproportionate effect on black people. If black people commit more crimes, the criminal justice system is racist. If black people can’t be bothered to get a photo ID, voter ID laws are racist. In Kentucky a high school’s dress code, which applies to all students, is being called racist by a black mom because her daughter’s hair doesn’t comply.

WDRB reports that the dress code of Butler High School in Louisville, KY is coming under fire for being extremely racist. And by under fire I mean one angry black mom has a problem with it. Attica Scott is a democratic candidate running unopposed for a state legislature seat. She also has a daughter, Ashanti, who attends Butler and was told her hair doesn’t comply with the dress code.
