Turkey: Systematic Torture, Rape of Political Prisoners

Following the failed July 15th coup d’état in Turkey, the world witnessed how thousands of Turks dealt with their own Turkish soldiers who put down their arms and surrendered. Pro-government Turks beat, tortured and lynched their own soldiers in the streets – before the eyes of the entire world.

But torturing is nothing new in Turkey. It is an old political tradition. Kurdish political prisoners have for decades been exposed to appalling sexual and physical torture in Turkish jails and police stations.

The day before the coup, human rights organizations in Turkey announced in a press conference that many Kurds who have been recently arrested and jailed in the city of Sanliurfa, or Urfa, have been tortured and raped while in detention.

Just as Putin is rebuilding the Russian Empire, Ergodan is rebuilding the Ottoman Empire, and is proving he is willing to be just as bloody as the Ottomans were in order to get his way.  Mass executions are imminent.

Rape in a Turkish prison? Really? But how can that be?


Turkey is part of NATO. Turkey is an associate member of the EU, or at least it wants to be.


Turkey may still become a full member of the EU within a decade or two. As Europe itself becomes more and more Islamic, the otherwise atrocities of Turkey will become commonplace and even normal.


Once European countries become full blown Islamic States, there will no longer be any reason to keep Turkey out. (or Iran, or Lebanon, or Saudi, or any other Islamic nation for that matter)
