In 10 years you'll be hard pressed to find a senator who won't claim they were on their feet cheering wildly for Ted Cruz on this night.

Among other milestones set, I think last night spelled the beginning of the end for the current cohort of conservative talking heads.

They are old and tired and most definitely on the wrong side of this dustup, and Cruz represents a new kind of principled fighter. Those younger people who have the capacity to recognize truth will gravitate to him.

Limbaugh has gone full Trumpbot, finally.  He's saying Cruz committed career suicide, that the people supporting him are in the minority, that #NeverTrumpers are flooding over to defend Trump, LOL.  And he's saying it while laughing that "heh heh heh" wheezy fat man's laugh.

This is priceless.

I understand that....which is why I commented.  You need to listen to what he said (or read the transcript) for yourself and draw your own conclusion before you condemn him (or anyone, for that matter). 

People have different perceptions about what is said....always.  Especially if/when they may already have a bias working in there.  And let's face it.  We all do have a bias, whether we want to admit it or not.

The fact that they have completely abandoned simple common decency when they called Trump's wildly over the top attacks "Just politics".

If accusing a candidate's father (in your own party) of being involved in the assassination of a former president is "just politics", it needs to die a quick and violent death because its a serious problem.

Its the politics of cultural degeneracy and talkers who refuse to denounce it are just as guilty as those who seek to shove homosexuality, transgenderism etc in our faces.

CLEVELAND — Sen. Ted Cruz's camp fired back at Chris Christie Thursday, accusing the governor of having "turned over his political testicles long ago."

Jeff Roe, Cruz's former campaign manager, took to the airwaves to hit New Jersey's governor after Christie spent lthe morning and last night trashing Cruz after the Texas lawmaker failed to endorse GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday.

"That guy turned over his political testicles long ago," Roe said on the Chris Stigall Show on Philadelphia radio. "So I don't take what he has to say with any meaning. You know, he embarrassed himself pretty quickly in this."

Christie endorsed Trump shortly after ending his own presidential bid and now heads his transition team. He lost out in the battle to be Trump's running mate.

Roe's response came after Christie unleashed on Cruz Wednesday night after the lawmaker's speech during the GOP convention. Christie called the speech "awful" and "selfish."

I turned on the radio again at the top of the hour.  Limbaugh was discussing the attack on Heidi Cruz...said that happened only after a Cruz superpac went after Melania.  So blame Cruz for that. Then he rather grudgingly admitted the superpac wasn't really connected to Cruz, not officially, but "that's how it happened."

Stunning.

Disappointing if true.  I dont see the NeverTrumpers rushing to trash Cruz-- See Jonah Goldberg.

Really like Rush-- but why the need to Trash Cruz?

We can still be Trump realists and vote our conscience for Trump while supporting Cruz in his future career choices-- including 2020 should Trump not make the cut.

Are people not able to hold two or three concepts in their heads at a time?

Or deal with dichotomies or ambiguities ?

I just posted that I believe Rush is a part of the establishment old boys' club and is angry that Cruz offended his golfing buddy.  I know someone who researched Rush's transcripts to find out the ratio of positive comments re: Trump and Cruz.  Despite mouthing lip service to conservatism, the positive coverage of Trump far outweighed that of Cruz.

It wasn't even a pro Cruz superpac. I remember the girl who created it on twitter explaining that she personally supported Rubio but the PAC was purely anti Trump and not connected to any campaign. The one that came out of the Trump campaign was made by a Trump staffer who has since admitted it.

The Trump campaign and those who refuse to denounce it all have become agents of our cultural degeneracy.

I'm listening to Rush and I listen to him almost daily and I am not hearing the things you guys are claiming he said.  Amazing how the perception of what Rush says can be so different for his listeners.  Rush always seems to be fair, IMO.  And I haven't heard him go full-Trumpist.

We witnessed the death of the values based Republican Party last night. The final nail was when gown men were threatening Heidi Cruz to the point she had to walk out with armed security. This is now a party of mob rule, a party that booed the phrase 'voting your values', a party that booed 'voting for the Constitution', a party that booed when Cruz said " fight for freedom, to protect our God-given rights" , a party that booed 'Cast aside anger for love', a party that even booed when Cruz said "God Bless America". This split has been a long time coming. Even if you aren't a Ted Cruz fan, you owe him a debt of gratitude for exposing that

And yet, Cruz is the one that Donald chose to go after and insult his family viciously.  Why?  Because Trump saw Cruz as his biggest threat and because that's just how Trump rolls.  Liberals and Democrats are like that.  They always resort to the lowest common denominator and engage in the politics of personal destruction.  It's their pattern.
