I got around this morning to reading yesterday's thread as I was caught up in the Southwest Airlines fiasco at Dallas Love Field trying to get to my dad in the hospitalized was saving my battery.

But I did get to hear parts of Cruz's speach at the terminal on CNN. They even cut away during the speach for a quickie commercial. Before Cruz spoke, the commie Van Jones went off with a vile tirade, something about doggie poo. Wish I could find the comment.

From what I could hear over all the terminal announcements, Cruz's speach was fantastic. He said just what he should have said. He laid down the path to prosperity for the GOP, should they and Trump desire to follow. A path that honors the constitution and respects our God given freedoms. Of course Trump in his usual uncouth style tries to upstage him, but I think that will ultimately backfire on Trump. People should indeed vote their conscious, not follow lockstep some Union-like party thugs, just because the "bosses" say so. So now let's see what King Trump the Orange ruler wanna be has to say about defendinding the constitution and protecting our God given rights. I'm betting he does not even mention those things.

Hats off salute to Sen. Ted Cruz!

I'm listening to Rush and I listen to him almost daily and I am not hearing the things you guys are claiming he said. Amazing how the perception of what Rush says can be so different for his listeners. Rush always seems to be fair, IMO. And I haven't heard him go full-Trumpist.

Most conservative pundits actually know very few real conservatives. What they think of as conservative tends to be northeast corridor moderate. A few like Glenn Beck have abandoned that life and actually get out among flyover country people. I think Mark Levin remains fairly solid by clinging to the constitution.

I'd love to see Sean Hannity spend a year in my little town but I don't want him next door to me. He would find that arrogance and self righteousness are not virtues out here.

First and foremost Rush is about Rush and Rush's bank account, that's why so much of his show is filled with commercials for his tea, and his books. I think Rush ran the numbers and decided he would lose too much money from the Trumpsters dropping off as listeners than Cruz supporters. Truth be told I had rarely listened to him the last few years and only when at my elderly mothers who listens every day, but then she mostly uses him for background noise.

I think Rush deserves a mulligan on this because I believe Trump is a golfing buddy. I still like Rush...but I did turn him off this morning.

I too stopped listening to Hannity when he jumped on the Trump Train. But I also can't stand the sing song way he talks, where every sentence, ends with his voice going up at the end. Just drives me nuts.

Cruz supporter from San Antonio said if Trump had not entered into the race, we may well have been looking at Jeb Bush as the nominee.

Sure, I'm sure the chorus will say "But Trump is establishment"; not very persuasive really.

And that brings us to the REAL dilemma.

Every time I choke it down and recognize that Queen Billary has to be stopped...God the Donald and his trumpbots put on a sh_t-show like this one and make me want to smash things. How in the HELL can I legitimatize such behavior by actually casting a VOTE for this hominid garbage?

I really don't know what I'll do. And, worse, this isn't like 1996, when the country, under the rotten President, was basically sound. We are about to collapse - and we need a leader.

Alinsky versus Tammany. Crony corporate versus neo-Marxist. Loud and incompetent and megalomanic...versus...loud and incompetent and megalomanic...

I don't know what to do. I'm not sure it matters; but I'd like to think I did the little I could. But, WHAT?

I understand that....which is why I commented. You need to listen to what he said (or read the transcript) for yourself and draw your own conclusion before you condemn him (or anyone, for that matter).

People have different perceptions about what is said....always. Especially if/when they may already have a bias working in there. And let's face it. We all do have a bias, whether we want to admit it or not.

Rush has always tried to tread the middle ground between republican candidates during primaries. So what I glean from him comes from reading between the lines. Often thats not difficult.

My problem with Rush was even though he repeatedly acknowledged Cruz was the candidate for conservatives he clearly tended to lean towards Trump.

Good for ratings, I suppose, but it didn't reflect well on Rush's sincere commitment to his loudly proclaimed conservative principles.

And today he's just off the chain.

Ted made all the little toadies who have bent to the will of Trump revealed for the sickening people that they are.

He was not only the only Man in the room ... but he made Trump look silly and vindictive.

Trump usually handles that very well by himself.

Kasich is first a Christian and he has said that. His family comes next. Service as governor of his state is next. We put "stuff" in the car, including the 5 lb. Yorkie, and head north, stopping at casinos along the way. I feel fine in Ohio knowing it is a conservative state with Kasich as Governor.

From Ohio, we head north to Cornell, New York, where the daughter (liberal to the left of Stalin) works for Cornell University - the most liberal town/university in the whole world. The area is lovely among the mountains, but I can't wait to get out of there. The LBGT (variations of homosexual deviancy) is a large group there. I doubt there is a single conservative in Cornell. There is no way in hell I would live there. If I worked for Cornell Un., I would get fired the first day.

Add to that.....Trump's intentional late entrance, right in the middle of Cruz's speech, taking away the spotlight (always) from Cruz and putting it on himself...and you have a clear portrait of yet another egotistical narcissist seeking ultimate power. After last nite's Trump stunt, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. And I couldn't even pick His Bloatness up.
