They're moving right along toward convincing themselves of Trump's brilliance.

Actually I would be more impressed if they had chosen Zhudi Jasser who spoke at the Ted Cruz hearing a week or so back. Cruz hasn't been seeking to incite hate of everyone who isn't white and Jasser is the real deal muslim who says American Muslims need tough love not coddling.

Bear in mind that one week ago Newt Gingrich was saying that people like Sajid Tarar should be deported.  Now he's addressing the convention the day before Gingrich is scheduled to.

They were worried about bad optics on how the delegates and others at the convention would respond to a Muslim prayer.  The problem is many of the delegates wouldn't know the difference in a Sikh and Muslim and would still act poorly.

I haven't confirmed this, reading from a Texas delegate.

OK, it appears replacing the Muslim prayer at the end with the Sikh prayer was just a rumor. Ishwar Singh is giving the Sikh prayer at the beginning. Audience is respectful. (she is beautiful too if I may add)
