Speaking to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Tuesday evening, senior political analyst for the network Brit Hume slammed President Obama for his speech at the interfaith memorial service for the five slain Dallas police officers.
While it started out as one of the president’s best speeches, Hume noted, it soon devolved into one of his worst.
“I, like you, was struck by the turn that he made, especially by that last comment that he made … where he said that it’d be easier for a teenager to get a glock pistol than to get a [computer] or a book. Now that’s nonsense,” Hume said, “but it was in furtherance of the agenda that he was talking about, spending in the inner cities, about gun control and all the rest of it.”
Hume continued: “You know the president has a problem in the sense that to him I think racism in America has a white face, never a black face.”
Evidence of this can be seen by the fact that he said we may never be able to ‘untangle’ the Dallas shooter’s motives, Hume explained, despite the fact that Micah Xavier Johnson made them perfectly clear (he told officers he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers).
“The president’s reaction to it suggests that he glosses over these sorts of things,” Hume said.
Hume added that this is the same as how Obama’s been virtually silent about black on black violence that we see in places like Chicago.
