An unidentified gunman negotiated with police from inside a parking garage into the early morning hours, telling police he was angered over racially charged shootings and wanted to kill white people, police said. He was killed when police sent a robot in to detonate a bomb he had, police said.

A RADICAL civil rights group based in Texas have claimed responsibility for shooting dead five cops in Dallas – and have warned of more attacks to come.

A group named "Black Power Political Organization - BPPO" posted to its Facebook page this morning claiming there would be more attacks in the coming days.

They claimed they were behind the attack on their Facebook page which has since been suspended.

The post read: "#‎BlackPower‬! ‪#‎BlackKnights‬! Sniper Assassins Take Down Five Police Officers! And More Will Be Assassinated In The Coming Days! Do You Like The Work Of Our Assassins? Get Your Own Sniper Rifle And Join Our Thousands Of Sniper Assassins Worldwide In The Fight Against Oppression!"

The protests were peaceful.  Cops were posing for pictures with protesters.  There were no problems until the shooting started.

Are you suggesting, then, that the whole point of the march was to set up the Dallas Police for assassination? 

Was there widespread looting last night?  Rioting?  Any of the other things that one usually associates with non-peaceful protests?
