Hours after FBI Director James Comey blasted Hillary Clinton and her aides for their "extremely careless" handling of classified information, the State Department rejected Comey's conclusion that the agency had a "lax culture" surrounding the treatment of sensitive material.

"We don't share the assessment that as an institution ... that the State Department has in the past or does today take lightly the issue of sensitive and classified information," agency spokesman John Kirby told reporters Tuesday.

Comey had said earlier Tuesday that the "security culture" at State was found to be "lacking" during the FBI's year-long investigation into Clinton's private email use. Agents discovered on Clinton's multiple servers 110 emails that should have been considered classified at the time they were written.

Kirby also refused to comment on whether Clinton and the handful of State Department aides who transmitted classified intelligence on her private network retained their security clearances in light of the FBI investigation into their activities. The spokesman cited an agency policy preventing public comment on individual security clearances.

The State Department may still take action against the individuals involved in the mishandling of classified intelligence, Kirby said.

Which brings us to the all important question .... if she can't be trusted not to compromise the country's classified information when she was Secretary of State, what makes one think that she can be trusted not to compromise classified information when (God forbid) she holds the highest office in the land?

If this incident does not teach the country's voters any lessons, then we deserve everything we get.

The President is the final authority for what is... and is not classified.  He/she can declassify anything they want.

Reagan declassified and revealed, at the UN, the intelligence surrounding the KAL007 flight and it's subsequent shootdown by Soviet forces back in the 1980s... just to refute the Soviet claims that it was an accident.

Well, this leads us to another interesting question ---- Can we trust her WISDOM to determine which information SHOULD or SHOULD not be classified?

Nope.  All those foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative...the hundreds of millions of dollars for speaking engagements...was a means to an end.  the "pro quo" in Quid Pro Quo between Her Thighness and the people donating that money happens when she is sowrn in sometime in the middle of January 2017.

There is no wisdom...there is no trust when you deal with the Clinton's...only greed.

When I first started work as a government contractor in the late 1980's, the government badge had a different background for employees with security clearance (they have since changed that).  We were warned that it was a security violation even if we didn't have security clearance to wear our government badge in public, because a foreign operative could tell what our security clearance was just by looking at our badge.

Point is, that it is actually a security violation to reveal anyone's level of security clearance, even to say that they have none.
