Back in 2003, Bonifacio Oseguera-Gonzalez was sent back to Mexico because he was in America illegally. He didn’t stay there long. Over the next 10 years, he would be sent back five more times despite having what Immigration and Customs Enforcement has called “no significant prior criminal convictions.”
Now, he sits in an Oregon jail after being accused of killing three people and wounding a fourth in a shooting spree Monday at a Woodburn, Ore., blueberry farm.
Police so far have not released a motive for the shootings, which killed two workers on the farm, Edmundo Amaro Bajanero and Ruben Rigoberto Reyes; wounded a third, Refugio Modesto DeLaCruz; and killed Katie Glidersleeve, who was the girlfriend of another worker who was not present. Prosecutors said Oseguera-Gonzalez admitted shooting all four people in a statement he gave to police after his arrest.
