Note the subtle shift here... the narrative now seems to be that Bill Clinton is somehow the one at fault for this meeting. Poor, poor, Ms. Lynch was trapped by him -- somehow he worked his wiles and snuck aboard the plane: shouldn't he know better than that?
They're trying to provide cover for Lynch, in other words. The DoJ walked back her quasi-recusal, and both the media and the Obama administration want to maintain the transparent fiction that her decision not to indict was made without political considerations.
