John Adams on the Constitution

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. John Adams

This comes from one of the giants of writing the Constitution who was well aware of the sentiments of the delegates in Philadelphia.  Of course, today we have more learned people in government and the legal profession who deny the reality of what the Constitution meant.  Our POTUS has even gone so far as to pronounce we are not a Christian nation.  The people who wrote the Constitution were almost totally Christians and those that weren't were deists.  Who did these Christians base the morals and virtues of this nation on?  Mohammed?  Of course not, it was based on Christian principles.  The learned elites of today, neither moral or religious, don't even think there is anything worth studying in Constitution and that it should be destroyed.  If so, how far can this country be from it's destruction?
