Speculation that Hillary Clinton could choose Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as her running mate spiked Monday after the duo made their first joint appearance on the campaign trail in Cincinnati.

By tapping Warren, Clinton could go a long way to reassuring progressives, including those who vigorously supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) during the Democratic primary campaign.

But selecting Warren would also be a gamble for the risk-averse Clinton.

Here’s what we learned from Monday’s event.

At this point, Hillary could name Kim Kardashian as her running mate and still win 400 electoral votes in November.

Hillary will not choose Warren:

1) She would outshine her.  She is much more dynamic, well-spoken and passionate.
2)  Wall Street donors will cut her off if she picks Warren.

No, Hillary needs some milquetoast like Tim Kaine or Sherrod Brown.

Not going to say categorically that Clinton will not pick Warren - who knows how Libs think - but I do have three reasons I think it's unlikely:

1/ History. Clinton wants to be the first woman President (The Worm none withstanding). She won't want to share the limelight.

2/ Appearances. Related to the first. Warren and Clinton are much of an age. Warren has aged gracefully, Clinton less so (I try to be kind on Tuesdays).

3/ Vengeance. It's the glass ceiling thing. What fun is breaking the glass ceiling if your immediate underling is not the sort of person who would normally have taken the job.

Clinton is going to pick Biden.

Clinton is going to pick Biden.

I think Bernie is more likely. No real threat but brings lots of supporters.
