Actually no, the FBI did not say any such thing officially. The AP story is based only on two “officials” that “were not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation by name and spoke on condition of anonymity”. The AP does not even state for a fact that the “officials” are actually in the FBI, only that they are “familiar with the investigation.” The AP went on to say that the “officials” “also cautioned that the investigation is ongoing and that nothing has formally been ruled out.”

Then the AP goes further to throw a wet blanket on the “officials” claim by stating that AG Lynch recently did not rule out the possibility that the terrorist was secretly gay. And the fact that at least one of the gay people that went on the record saying that the terrorist was involved in homosexual activity and a regular patron of the Pulse gay club (Jim Van Horn) claims that he has not been contacted by the FBI yet.

I think this AP story falls way short of dispelling the notion that the terrorist was also gay.
