More of the rootless cosmopolitan bull.  It seems that conservatism is, for many, just the hate of anyone not a WASP... and the love of socialism (only for the 'right' people, though).

Frequently in the pages of literary journals works are found where the people, builders of America are shown in pathetic and ludicrous forms. Heroes is derided and inferior before all things foreign and cosmopolitan that we all fought against from the days of our founding fathers. The characteristics of the political left are many times applauded. In the movies it seems that Amerian scripts are pushed aside by those favoring foreigners.

The truth is, if you go back a little further in your list most of Trump's supporters thought he was a slime ball before they went to your first step of backing him. Their issue with us is that we didn't make that initial transformation that they did. They believe Trump had some sort of epiphany that changes all his past history. We didn't buy it. And there lies the fundamental difference.
