  • Your what hurts??
This is an amazing little video of how the JWST will be inserted into a Halo orbit at L-2, a million miles from Earth, in about 29 months.  This will be the largest space telescope ever inserted and will not only dwarf Hubble, but far exceed its capabilities.

When it is launched, it will be the largest single payload ever launched by an Ariene V, and will require the largest payload shroud ever built.

Watch this one full-screen, and bookmark it.  You'll want to check it out repeatedly.....

It had better launch, deploy, and operate smoothly....  What was originally a $500-million budget is now up to nearly $9-billion!

Cool stuff. Thanks for posting.

Unlike Hubble, the Webb telescope will not be serviceable.
But it should produce a lot of findings.

Have to wait until 2019 for results though.

That is the only bad part, however, if it does it's intended mission it could find a new home for us..

Whoa, they better not mess this up.

There better not be a "Oops, we forgot to take the protective shroud off the main lenses..."
