Who is anti-establishment again?

Quote
Reassuring to hear if you oppose Trump because you fear he’d be a chaos agent with a nuclear arsenal as president. Probably not so reassuring, though, if you want him to be that chaos agent, as many of his fans seem to do. He’s the guy who’s going to go to Washington and burn the establishment to the ground, right? Well, no. Wrong.

The best part of this is that he’s offering it as a pot sweetener to get rich Republicans to bankroll his general-election campaign, exactly the sort of pandering to well-heeled elites that he attacked to great effect in the primaries. Cruz, Rubio — they were all in the tank for the country-club set because they needed their cash to keep their campaigns going. Trump, the independent billionaire, owed no one anything. Now here we are, with Trump forced to promise the same country-clubbers that he won’t try to undermine the two pols who’ve come to embody the Republican establishment. Perfection.....

I can still hear the cries from TOS about how Cruz sold out to the GOPe. Trump is consistently inconsistent. :silly: :silly:

No.  They are goose-stepping hordes that digitally behave no differently than the Squadrisi or the Sturmabteilung.  The death threats on social media for us *traitors* who refuse to vote for the "party's nominee" is becoming more vicious, numerous and shrill.

Crony capitalism and the Uniparty will live on under Trump. Wonder how his supporters will spin this as a "genius" move.

That is why the Establishment Uniparty have all jumped onto Trump's train.  They know he will keep the oligarchy running on time.  Trump made that deal and they like the deal.

The hypocrites who at one time last month were screaming about Trump abhorring the 'Establishment" and insisting he was 'an outsider' are True Believers  - so spinning Trump working with the Establishment as a political genius is to be expected.

Sellout.  Apparently the private banks that lend on his projects yanked his leash and reined him in.

It's taking longer than usual to come up with the newspeak party line that spins this.  They're probably all taking extra aspirin to deal with the cognitive dissonance.

What's the big whoop here?  Trump sounds like a constitutional conservative with a clear understanding of the separation of powers.  No POTUS can or should try to oust the leader of the Senate or the House.

Would you want President Trump to try, @austingirl?   :pondering:

They'll show up eventually and call us all "haters"..............

Never, ever do they recognize the duplicity of the man they've chosen to love.

Why would he?  He donated to McConnell.

Trump IS the system.

He's the donor class.  He's part and parcel of the corruption of the Washington cartel.

Meet the new boss- same as the old boss. All of Trump's big talk of being an outsider who was going to shake things up was so much BS. McConnell and Ryan will ensure the Uniparty lives on.

The reaction in this thread is how the left would try to explain global warming.

If Trump said he wasn't going to try to get along with McConnell and Ryan, the nevertrumpers would be a-rantin' (he won't cooperate with the Congress!)

If Trump said he was going to try to get along with McConnell and Ryan, the nevertrumpers would be a ravin' (he's just another one of them!)

Rant and rave away!

I congratulate you for your effort, Fishrrman.

You have to work very hard to defend everything Trump says and does, no matter how it goes against your own convictions.

I expect you get very tired doing so.....   :patriot:

Drip, drip, drip, every day more is revealed about the ridiculous puffed-up figure, Trump. All of it negative.

I called this nine months ago.  The post that got me booted from that formerly Conservative site said precisely that Trump was doing absolutely nothing to overturn the GOP establishment.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

You would know.

That's the same exact playbook you Trumpians employed against Cruz and Rubio.

It's amazing to watch the projection as you play Apologists for hypocrisy of the highest order.
