Black Lives Matter Is Now Attacking THIS Patriotic Institution… Pathetic!

Black Lives Matter

Remember when Curt Schilling – a long time baseball analyst and World Series legend – was summarily dismissed by ESPN for taking a stand against transgender bathroom lunacy?

The network issued a statement saying they are “an inclusive company” and Schilling’s “conduct was unacceptable.”

Being inclusive doesn’t appear to include the right of police officers to sing theNational Anthem in their city’s major sports arena or ballpark, however.

ESPN Magazine’s Howard Bryant penned a column that calls the National Anthem “staged patriotism,” blasted ‘Law Enforcement Appreciation’ nights, and claimed having police officers at sporting events represents an “authoritarian shift.”

He added that police officers at sporting events represent “a chilling force looming over” athletes that prevents them from speaking out on behalf of the black community.

Yet, Bryant’s comments and conduct are not seen as ‘unacceptable’ by the network.

Via Fox News Insider:

Everybody loves it when police officers sing the national anthem before sporting events – or so we thought.

ESPN Magazine‘s Howard Bryant wrote in a new column that cops singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” is “staged patriotism,” arguing that it signals an “authoritarian shift at the ballpark.”

“Why don’t more athletes speak out on behalf of their communities?” Bryant wrote. “Perhaps more of them would if there wasn’t a chilling force looming over them.”

This morning, the “Fox and Friends Weekend” co-hosts took exception with Bryant’s column and his assertion that these performances of the national anthem are examples of systemic racism in America.

“What is the problem here with expressing some patriotism?” Anna Kooiman asked, pointing out that this comes after recent attacks on the Pledge of Allegiance and the Declaration of Independence.

Bryant complains that holding up police officers as heroes has been the unfortunate side effect of 9/11.

He writes, “The post-9/11 hero narrative has been so deeply embedded within its game-day fabric that policing is seen as clean, heroic, uncomplicated.”

No, Mr. Bryant, policing is seen as ‘clean, heroic and uncomplicated’ because law enforcement is made up of predominantly ‘clean, heroic, and uncomplicated’ men and women.

Newsbusters’ Clay Waters reviewed Bryant’s history of incendiary commentary, including columns blasting the Chicago Blackhawks for honoring Veterans Day, and criticizing the Los Angeles Dodgers for honoring law enforcement.

Remember when Schilling returned fire against ESPN for letting him go for his conservative viewpoints, saying they were stocked with “some of the biggest racists in sports commentating?”

Congratulations Howard Bryant – Denigrating law enforcement as a ‘chilling force’ holding down black communities just proved him right.

Blacklivesmatter, being the rocket scientists they are, blamed the shooting of the gorilla in Cincinnati on white privilege.  The Gorilla was murdered to save the white baby.  Well, wrong blacklivesmatter.  The baby was black so the white people were saying black lives matter, too. :tongue2:
