Manafort: Women, Minorities Not on Trump's VP List to Avoid 'Pandering'
Thursday, May 26, 2016 01:29 PM

Donald Trump is still weighing who his vice presidential running mate will be, but women and minorities are probably not in the mix, his campaign chairman Paul Manafort says.

"In fact, that would be viewed as pandering, I think," Manafort told The Huffington Post.

Manafort's remark is the first indication of how Trump is paring down his list for the No. 2 leader in the White House.

"He needs an experienced person to do the part of the job he doesn't want to do. He seems himself more as the chairman of the board, than even the CEO, let alone the COO," Manafort said.

"There is a long list of who that person could be and every one of them has major problems."

Wow.  Just wow.

He wants to be the king  - the head of state - but not the guy who actually runs things.

I think the delegates should have grounds to reject him for this reason alone.

It's likely there aren't any high-profile Republican women or minorities who would run with Trump.

He'll pick Gingrich who, according to one poll from this morning, has a 23% favorability with voters, even lower than Trump's 29%.
