Clinton pokes Trump: 'How can anybody lose money running a casino?'

By Nick Gass

Hillary Clinton got more personal with Donald Trump on Monday, poking the presumptive Republican nominee for his businesses' four bankruptcies, including his failed casinos.

"What little we know of his economic policies would be running up our debt, starting trade wars, letting Wall Street run wild, all of that could cause another crash and devastate working families and our country," the Democratic candidate told an audience at the Service Employees International Union's annual convention in Detroit. "Trump economics is a recipe for lower wages, fewer jobs, more debt. He could bankrupt America like he's bankrupted his companies. I mean, ask yourself, how can anybody lose money running a casino? Really. "

Clinton remarked that she hears from families "every day" about what a Trump presidency would mean for immigrants living and working in the United States, particularly those in mixed-status families where children were born in the country but parents are perhaps undocumented. "We're talking about real people," Clinton said.

“He’s talking about sending a deportation force to schools, workplaces and homes to round up moms, dads, grandparents, even children. When he talks about ending birthright citizenship, he’s talking about kicking children who are born here out of the only country they know," she said, referring to Trump's remarks in an interview with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" last November.

Laying out the stakes for the general election, Clinton warned, “The only thing standing between Donald Trump and the Oval Office is all of us.”

Clinton alternately praised Bernie Sanders for the campaign he has run but also vowed to unify the Democratic Party "and stop Donald Trump."

Wrapping up her speech, Clinton laid out another turn of phrase calling out Trump for his rhetoric.

“We need a president who will use the bully pulpit to stand up for working families, but the last thing we need is a bully in the pulpit," she said. "And nobody knows better than a union like SEIU that the only way to stand up to a bully is to stand up together.”

Good move.

Trump doesn't give a damn about policy, so going after him there is no big deal to him.  But poking fun at him personally, intimating that he's a lousy businessman or that he has small hands or looks funny is guaranteed to get a twitter storm going.

That's exactly the point I'd make if I was Trump.  Point out that the gambling itself isn't the key -- it's really a hotel/restaurant business as well, but that Hillary takes the typical leftist approach of assuming that business just print money.

Not to mention that other casinos - Caesar's included - in Atlantic City took bankruptcy too.  No doubt due to economic conditions that progressives imposed on everyone.

Does the organized graft known as "The Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation" count as a business?  The last large organization she was responsible for was the State Department, and we all know how well she did that.

How can any Secretary of State's department lose $6 billion of taxpayer money in just a four-year tenure?

And the steak business.  And the airline business.  And the football team business.  And the online university business.

The Indians sure know how to do it.  I think its a fair insult.  He has had four bankruptcies. Exactly why I questioned Sessions on his support for Trump.  He has been front and center in opposition of slack bankruptcy.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

When paying consumers don't spend enough to cover the cost of operations. Only the government can spend more than it takes in and keep operating. Is the deficit $20 trillion yet?

The lady has a point.

After all, she sure knows the cattle futures trade.

And she can sure make money "at the bank". A 20-minute speech and her cash register rings up to the tune of $200,000 or so. Even Trump don't pull it in like that!

Hillary not only laughs on the way to the bank, she cackles on her way OUT of the bank, too!

Not yet.  We'll probably have to wait'll Trump gets into office before it breaks $20 trillion.

Nothing easy about running a casino. You're basically asking people to throw money away, almost literally. Anyone with any knowledge of math knows the odds are stacked against you. They are having trouble turning a profit in many areas, because we are reaching "peak casinos", too many casinos not enough gamblers. When a new casino opens it just cannibalizes business from another.
