Milo Yiannopoulos, tech editor for right-wing news website Breitbart, has questioned Facebook's method for selecting trending topics on Facebook.
For the past seven months conservative headlines have dominated he internet skyline but not nearly as what is represented. Breitbart News is often shared on Donald Trumps Facebook and Twitter accounts and Milo Yiannopoulos suspects foul play in the way trending topics are held at the top.
Facebook is mostly run by algorithms that help limit the chance of human involvement regarding the news. However when it comes to trending topics on Facebook, Facebook moderators are asked to review the topics and ensure the content is "real" and not "duplicates".
Tech Editor Milo Yiannopoulos and Donald Trump supporter has challenged Mark Zucherberg to a debate this Friday. Zucherberg has agreed to invite many popular conservatives to speak with him regarding the active suppression of conservative points of view.
CNN reported that this week after anonymous sources told Gizmodo that the company "routinely" instructed contractors to suppress news with conservative points of view. Check out the full story here.
There is also suspicion from many Donald Trump internet communities in Facebook Groups and Facebook Pages related to GOP front running Donald Trump, that they have been shut down for days or even weeks at a time. Many personal Facebook page owners of conservative related topics have reported drastically less "reach" and "engagement" despite the immense no-contest popularity of Donald Trump .
Zuckerburg has claimed there is no merit for these accusations and says he is conducting a full investigation regarding the matter.
