Trump delegate faces child porn, weapons charges

WALDORF, Md. — A Maryland man who was selected as a Donald Trump delegate to the Republican National Convention faces weapons and child pornography charges.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein in Baltimore announced the indictment of Caleb Bailey, 30, of Waldorf on Thursday.

A federal grand jury indicted Bailey on multiple charges, including using a minor to produce child pornography, illegal possession of a machine gun, and illegal transport of explosives.

According to prosecutors, Bailey attempted to send a package in the mail that contained more than 300 explosive rounds.

Prosecutors say Bailey called the U.S. Postal Service customer service line twice to inquire about the package, providing a tracking number associated with it. In the first call he used a fake name, but identified himself as Bailey during the second call, according to prosecutors.
