    Palin, the former governor of Alaska, already tried out for the role of vice president once, in 2008, when she ran alongside John McCain
    She shocked the political world when she endorsed Trump over Ted Cruz, a fellow Tea Partier whom she backed in 2012 for the U.S. Senate
    Trump said this week that he’s looking at five or six people for the position but wouldn’t name names
    Carson said Sunday that Palin is on the list along with four of Trump’s former opponents: John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie
    Trump swatted it away on Twitter, saying it wasn't true
    By Monday morning Carson was shrugging it off on CNN: 'Any name you’re going to throw out, I’ll say, "Yeah, sure"'

Donald Trump and his campaign have walked back comments from endorser Dr. Ben Carson, who said Sunday that Sarah Palin, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie were all under consideration for the presumptive GOP nominee's number-two slot.

Carson, a former rival of Trump's who endorsed him shortly after getting out of the race on March 2, told a Washington Post reporter that all those people – including Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee – were on Trump's short list.

Responding to a Morning Consult poll that listed the most palatable veeps to Republican voters, Carson listened to the names and said: 'Those are all people on our list.'

Hours later, though, his boss tried to calm the waters and keep the guessing-game going..

'The @washingtonpost report on potential VP candidates is wrong,' Trump wrote on Twitter. 'Marco Rubio and most others mentioned are NOT under consideration.'

As a result, Ben Carson has narrowed the "short list" of Trump VP choices down to one name:

Ben Carson.

Reason says Trump will not pick as a VP anybody who by their proximity to the office of the president would create an inducement to get him impeached/assassinated.

Is there some fear that amid the aforementioned names might be one who would want to create such an inducement?

Possible, also Sessions or one of the others who the DC crowd is not too friendly with. Cruz would have been on that list but he has too many character flaws that came out in the Primary.

Any Rino on the list yes. Somebody the Establishment would want as President who could not win by voting.
