Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton is going after Donald Trump for his refusal to disclose his taxes.

A new 60-second ad titled "What's Donald Trump hiding?" opens asking "Why won't Donald Trump release his tax returns?"

Trump Friday insisted that voters do not have a right to see his returns and told an interviewer, "It's none of your business" when asked what rate he pays. But Clinton's quick move to seize on the issue suggests Democrats intend to make Trump's taxes a festering sore should he not release his returns.

The ad shows CNN's Jake Tapper noting in a newscast that Trump, the presumed Republican nominee, will "not follow the example of every single Democratic and Republican presidential nominee since 1976" and release his tax returns.

Romney showed delay is a loss on this issue. The American electorate expects the candidate to release his tax returns.

If Trump continues the way he is going I'm thinking he has joined us NeverTrump

Trump stated that Romney delaying releasing his tax returns screwed him over.

Trump is hung on his own petard on this one.  He promised that he would release his taxes and now he's backing away from it.  He pointed out in 2012 that Romney had promised to release his taxes and couldn't then not do so.

Candidates have not traditionally released speech transcripts.  They do release tax forms.  If Trump tries to hit Hillary on this or make his conditional on her releasing transcripts then he's just setting himself.  She would release the transcripts in a minute just to watch him bluster and cry about audits and such.

So say Trump did say that and Clinton responded, "OK, here they are?"  What excuse would Trump come up with next?  Or would be go back to the tired old "after the audit" excuse?

FWIW, I saw something that Trump had to give the NJ Gaming Board his tax returns while he was under audit.
